Please note that the Red line and Green line are not linked. Passengers should change at Abbey Street and then cross O'Connell Bridge then Westmoreland Street, College Green (Trinity College), Grafton Street to reach St Stephens Green. Approximately 15 minutes walk.
The Green line does not have a direct connection to any rail station. Pearse station is the closest, approximately a 10-15 minutes walk from St Stephen's Green. Quickest route is via St Stephen's Green to Kildare Street to Nassau Street to Lincoln Place and Westland Row.
Tickets must be purchased before travel. A zero tolerance policy is followed towards fare evasion. The (outward portion for a return ticket) journey must be completed within 90 minutes from the time the ticket is issued.Further information can be found at http://www.luas.ie. Veolia to their credit provide a useful single page with the cash fares.
A prototype smartcard ticketing system is in use on Luas. If you travel frequently but not frequently enough to buy a weekly or monthly ticket you may want to look into it further, since it offers a discount of between 15 and 25 cent per single journey. For more visit http://luassmartcard.luas.ie
