Welcome to the Rail Users Ireland Fare Calculator!
This is a beta version covering all intercity stations between Sligo, Rosslare Europort, Dundalk and Dublin Connolly. All known fares will be quoted including special discounted fares.
The calculator will return the fares as you will be charged at the booking office, a later revision will recommend the cheapest legal combination of tickets. At this time if you are travelling via Dublin it may be cheaper to buy a ticket to Dublin and then another onwards such is the weirdness of the Irish Rail ticketing system.
The calculator observes all Irish Rail fare conventions, including the fact fares can be different depending on direction of travel. For journeys within the Republic of Ireland maximum adult single fare is €62.00, 5 day return €65.50, maximum child fare is €24.00
Tickets valid on all trains. Saver fares generally available Monday - Thursday and Saturday. Discounted returns are subject to local conditions, and may be valid only after the morning peak, selected days only. Only permanent discounted tickets are shown, short term discounts are not shown. Special requirements exist for student, faircard and weekender tickets, please read this page
Please note this is a trial service and may not always return the correct fare, Rail Users Ireland does not make any guarantees to the accuracy of this service, if you believe the fare to be wrong please tell us. The fares quoted are based on the official Irish Rail fare matrix submitted to the Department of Transport. This service will not currently calculate fares within the Dublin Suburban area, please visit here for those fares.
** Note actual distance is sometimes greater as some fares are calculated via closed routes, Kerry line to Limerick for example.
